Notes:

1. Test after drinking alcohol for at least 20 minutes, because it takes about 20 minutes for alcohol to be absorbed from the digestive system into the bloodstream. Tested immediately after drinking, the results only reflect the concentration of alcohol in the mouth at that time, not the concentration of alcohol contained in the blood.

2. In order to make the test results accurate, please wait 20 minutes after drinking alcohol before testing, and the test time is preferably more than 3 minutes from the last test.

3. Smoking and eating are strictly prohibited within 20 minutes before the test.

Criteria for drinking and driving drunk: the driver's blood alcohol content greater than or equal to 20mg/100ml, less than 80mg/100ml is drinking driving, and the alcohol content greater than or equal to 80mg/100ml is drunk driving.  

Under normal circumstances, if you just drink alcohol, immediately take a breathalyzer test, the value may be relatively high, but after 20~30 minutes of testing, the value may decrease, but this value is more accurate, because the alcohol has entered the blood through digestion and absorption. Although the threshold for traffic police to penalize drunk driving is 20mg (or 0.02g), this does not mean that it is safe to drive below 20mg (or 0.02g).

According to the report of the World Health Organization, when the blood alcohol content of the driver reaches 80mg/100ml, that is, the threshold of drunk driving, the chance of a traffic accident is 2.5 times that of the blood without alcohol. With a blood alcohol content of 100mg/100ml, the chance of a traffic accident is 4.7 times higher than when there is no alcohol in the blood. Even when drinking a small amount of alcohol, the risk of a traffic accident can reach about twice that of the unconsumed state.
